Steel BreezePrevious Next
Thank you for a great installation team and for such an amazing work of art.
Steel Breeze plays with the relationship between positive and negative space. Made from mirror polished stainless steel, two circular discs are positioned parallel to each other and laser cut in an elaborate pattern to reveal the gap between them. The piece is encircled by an elegant band of antique tan patinated bronze.
David Harber says, ‘Steel Breeze plays with the light, offering kaleidoscopic reflections of the environment around it. The name came from lyrics from a song by rock band Pink Floyd and was inspired by the way the wind blows through the sculpture.’
Steel Breeze comes in a 47", 59" and 78" diameter size with other sizes available on request. The interior can also be lit and painted any colour, left unpolished or mirror polished.
Pricing starts at $46,761 including lighting
Steel Breeze is made from 316 marine grade mirror polished stainless steel and antique tan patinated bronze.
Steel Breeze comes in a 47", 59" and 78" diameter size with other sizes available on request.
David Harber Ltd provides a steel tube which is cast into the ground by the client at the desired location and secured with a concrete foundation. Steel Breeze is then fixed onto the tube once the concrete has been cured. There are other installation methods possible. It is possible to incorporate a low voltage LED uplighter in the bottom of the central aperture which provides a stunning lighting effect at night. We provide the driver but this will require a conduit plus drawcord to be installed for the electricity supply. Installation and delivery are included in the price for UK commissions, and for overseas shipping quotes can be obtained and charged at cost.
We would recommend that Steel Breeze be cleaned when necessary with warm soapy water and a very soft cloth and then rinsed with warm clean water. Once dry, the stainless steel can be polished with glass cleaner and a soft lint free cloth. Use of any abrasive cleaner will damage the finish and must be avoided. Maintenance instructions will be issued on installation.
