Florio
Inspired, in part, by a conversation with Connecticut–based landscape designer, James Doyle, on the importance of the natural environment, Florio is a sculptural embodiment of plant growth. The elegantly curving copper flutes of each layer morph skyward, with the uppermost gilded flute exuding a warm, lustrous glow, referencing pollination and its crucial role in our ecosystem.

Design details
A carefully considered patinating process of Florio’s copper exterior creates an intriguing synthesis of warm copper hues and dappled verdigris, adding to the sculpture’s organic, plant-like aesthetic. Florio’s natural form can blend seamlessly into its surroundings, or it can serve as a focal point of a garden design.
The shape of each tiered verdigris-finished copper flute was created from individually commissioned molds.
Florio’s petals can be internally lit to bring the piece to life in the evening.
Product information
Florio comes with its own base plate that needs to be bolted down onto a smooth and level foundation pad which should be sited slightly below ground level. This allows room for an electric cable and for the base of the sculpture to be covered in gravel or pebbles, giving the illusion that it is growing out from the ground. We supply the driver for the LED. The piece can also sit above the water with the base plate being adjusted accordingly to meet the specific set up.
Installation and delivery are included in the price for UK commissions, and for overseas shipping quotes can be obtained
The copper will exhibit some natural weathering with age, however, periodic cleaning will help preserve its beauty. We would recommend that it be cleaned at least once a year with only warm water and a soft cloth to remove any detritus. The stainless-steel version should firstly be washed with a hose, to remove any dust or sand particles, and then cleaned and polished with glass cleaner. Use of any abrasive cleaner will damage the finish and must be avoided.
Gilded surfaces must be gently washed. Once dry, burnish the gold by gently polishing the gold leaf with dry cotton wool. Maintenance instructions will be issued on installation.
