Eclipse

Inspired by 20 years of marriage, Eclipse uses interlocking rings to symbolise unity and harmony. The composition of strong, black–coated stainless steel, gilding, and mirror–polished stainless steel in two angled rings achieves a teetering yet grounded sense of balance.

Eclipse is available in two sizes with larger sizes available on request. This sculpture is lit with a warm white LED.

Design details

Echoing DH Lawrence’s poem ‘Fidelity’, read at Sophie and David’s wedding, the sculpture captures the notion of working harmoniously yet honouring each other’s differences.

The inner ring is lined with 23¾ carat gold leaf, bringing it into spectacular contrast with the painted black finish.

Eclipse’s base is easily subsumed into the landscape with the use of plants, which helps to incorporate the sculpture as an integral feature of your garden’s design.

Integrated LED lights in the base are positioned to capture the finish of the smaller ring and create a thin slither of light, mimicking the eclipse.

Product information

The rings are supported on a flat stainless-steel base plate that is bolted down to a concrete pad. We ask that this foundation is placed at the proposed site, together with a conduit and drawcord emerging up through the centre, for the required electricity to supply the integral light.

Installation and delivery are included in the price for UK commissions, and for overseas shipping quotes can be obtained and charged at cost.

Periodic cleaning will help preserve the beauty of the Eclipse. We would recommend that it be cleaned at least once a year with only warm water and a soft cloth to remove any detritus. Use of any abrasive cleaner will damage the finish and must be avoided. The gold leaf gilding should be washed gently with a garden hose, a high-pressure hose should be avoided at all costs. Maintenance instructions will be issued on installation.
